When does aging start?


Believe it or not, we start to age at 25years, well at a cellular level. Cell turnover looses speed. Our collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production also begins to slow down. These elements are the elements responsible for keeping our skin tight, fluffed and young looking. Your skin thins and becomes less elastic and more fragile, and the fatty tissue below the skin decreases.


There are things that you can do to slow down the aging process

  1. Reduce inflammation in your body- Eat happy healthy foods that has nutrients in it. Fasting also allows the body to heal itself hence reducing disease and inflammation.

  2. Heal macromolecular damage or DNA damage: Increase intake of plant based and lean animal proteins and lipids. Exercise regularly; this increases antioxidants.

  5. Drink less Alcohol and more water/ mineral packed drinks: Alcohol is hard on your skin. It dehydrates it and damages it over time. Water, fruit and vegetable juices on the other hand does the opposite.
